Press Conf. on Big Cell Bust - Operation "Cyber Snare"

This is all 2nd hand info, I was NOT there, I did have a cameraman there
and will have footage of the whole thing which will be included in the
documentary I'm working on... yeah, its almost done.

With that said:

        This morning the Secret Service held a press conference at their
office in Morristown, NJ to annouce the first wave in their big cellular
busts.  They annouced indictments against six individuals - MasterMind,
Chilln', LED, and 3 others.  All charges centering around cell phone fraud
and credit card# scams totaling over $1million.  The SS said they were
primarily targeting people selling pairs, CC#s, readers, or precloned
phones.  Basically they want the money people, they were asked about the
end user - and they said there are too many people using cloned phones,
their solution is to just have the phone turned off.  On display was a
small collection of confiscated phones, a laptop, a curtis, a scanner,
etc.  They said this was an on-going nationwide investigation, and more
busts will follow shortly.  There were some reps from AT&T there who were
saying that these guys were selling pairs for $75-$100 EACH - Who would
pay that? - They went on to talk about how they are now implementing PIN
codes in NY/NJ and soon other areas to help stop fraud - like that will
help.  The AT&T goons said they had developed "new algorithms" which
helped the SS bag these guys.  Uh, yeah, ok.  Smoke screen alert! The
truth is the SS nailed a certain hacker awhile ago for a bad thing, and
hes been working for said government agency since.  Can I be anymore
vague?  Hint- If you've been calling a certain Phreak BBS which was
disconnected on Friday - YOU ARE ON A LIST.  If after all this goes down,
and you still cant figure out who it is, you have no bizness doing what
your doing.   There was at least one other confidential informant also.
The other thing the SS was doing was tracking down Curtis users - its
fairly easy if you have one of the ones that transmits.  A NBC guy asked
about all the stuff you can just buy out of Nuts&Volts - A SS woman
smiled, and said "we're working on that..."
