This disk contains the NPA/NXX Activity Guide (NNAG), as produced, for the month indicated on the label of the original diskette, by the Traffic Routing Administration (TRA) organization. This data is also available as a report (paper). Questions regarding this product may be directed to the TRA Hotline at (732) 699-6700. There are six more files in addition to this one: INFOmmyy.TXT NNAGmmyy INSRmmyy OCNmmyy SPLTmmyy.TXT SEARCH.EXE Where mmyy is the issue month of the NNAG. ***************************************************************************** INFOmmyy.TXT contains the text of the "General Section" of the paper version of the NNAG, explains terms, and contains other useful information. ***************************************************************************** The NNAGmmyy file is the core of the product. The data contained in this file is formatted as follows: (data is sorted by NPANXX) Character Position Description ----------- -------------------------------------------- 1-3 NPA 4-6 Central Office Code (COC) (e.g. NXX) 7 Status/Activity: E = Effective D = Disconnect M = Modify X = Canceled Modify (Insert only) blank = "current" (if only a "Disconnect" record exists, it is assumed to be current as well.) 8-13 Date (Date of Status/Activity) 14-16 COCTYPE 17-20 SSC (Special Service Code) 21-31 SW IDENT (Switch Identifier) 32-34 EQPT (Equipment Type) 35-38 Operating Company Number (OCN) 39-43 LATA (of the SW IDENT) 44-73 Rate Center Name 74-78 Major Vertical Coordinate (of Rate Center) 79-83 Major Horizontal Coordinate (of Rate Center) 84 Change Indicator (* if a modification to a Rate Center's major V and/or H coordinate occurs, blank otherwise) 85-89 Minor Vertical Coordinate (of Rate Center) 90-94 Minor Horizontal Coordinate (of Rate Center) 95 Change Indicator (* if a modification to a Rate Center's minor V and/or H coordinate occurs, blank otherwise) 96 filler (no data) 97-98 State, Province, Territory, etc. (of Rate Center) 99 Portable Indicator (Y/N) - Y indicates some line numbers may be ported to another company 100 filler (no data) ****************************************************************************** Note: The NNAG provides future activity on a replacement basis. Future activity in each NNAG should be considered a complete REPLACEMENT of activity (from the NNAG product month forward) that had been reported in a prior NNAG. For example, the August NNAGmmyy file serves as a complete replacement of future activity previously reported to occur August 1 and onward. Please be aware that under this process an activity and/or a given date may vary or appear/disappear from one NNAG to the next. ****************************************************************************** INSRmmyy (NNAG "INSERT") contains NNAG data which, primarily due to timing considerations, was not included in previous issues. This is a data file which is formatted identical to the NNAGmmyy file. This data should be processed before the NNAG data since INSRmmyy has effective dates in the prior month. INSRmmyy can be processed identical to the NNAGmmyy. The sole difference is that a Status/Activity Code of "X" may exist for some records in the INSRmmyy file. This indicates that a previously issued "M" (modify) view has been "canceled". "M" records, which are preceded with a "blank" Status/Activity Code for a given key in the NNAGmmyy file, do not have a corresponding "blank" record in this file. On rare occasions*, an "M" or an "X" record appearing on the "INSERT" may not be found to either change data, or relate to a previously issued "M", respectively - these situations are a result of conditions existing in the source data which do not pertain to, therefore were never presented, in a NNAG - they can be disregarded. When the X DOES pertain to NNAG data, the prior month should have the "M" transaction, as well as the previously existing data values - the "X" implies that the previously existing data values should now take effect again (negating the modification). * Note: due to thousands block pooling occuring in some states ****************************************************************************** The OCNmmyy file contains a listing of Operating Company Numbers (OCNs) which should include all the four character OCNs found in the NNAG. This file serves to translate the four character code into a specific company name. The file is structured as follows: (data is sorted by OCN) Character Position Description ------------ -------------------------------------------- 1-4 OCN (Operating Company Number) 5-24 Company Name **************************************************************************** SPLTmmyy.TXT is a text file which contains information generally related to recent and upcoming NPA (Area Code) splits. **************************************************************************** SEARCH.EXE is a program for extracting specific records from the NNAG by keying on any of the fields in the NNAG. For example, all records for a given NPA can be extracted, or all records with a STATUS Code of "D", or all records for a given OCN, etc. The routine is menu driven and will create a separate file containing the results. To run SEARCH enter SEARCH at the DOS prompt or double click on the SEARCH.EXE file in File Manager when under the proper subdirectory. **************************************************************************** Copyright 1991, 2001 Telcordia Technologies, Inc.
