Autumn:  The Autumn 1996 cover had our masthead in orange, with the rest of the words even more difficult to read than the previous issue's.

This photo was of a payphone graveyard, or at least a payphone booth graveyard.

The only alteration we did to this photo was to add "BEYOND HOPE" to a white sign in the background.  It served as an apt summation of the scene, as well as a promotion for our just announced second conference, which would be taking place the following year using that very name.
