The Ominous GETS

"When the going gets tough, GETS keeps you going."

That's the catchy slogan for this neat emergency telecommunications system the federal government has set up for things like nuclear wars and asteroid collisions.

We hope the information on the following pages proves useful to the civilians who never seem to get told about these things.  You can get more information (theoretically, at least) by emailing gets@ncs.gov or phoning 703-607-4800.  (One number up is their fax line.)

As for the mysterious 710 area code number referred to here, let's just say that the research is progressing nicely.
