DEFENDING DEMOCRACY ------------------- In the constant threat of terrorism we see today, national security is of utmost important. It requires change, to maintain democracy to our nation. It is of important that we do this else we will lose the democracy we fought to protect. To maintain stability, law and order in these times, we require the enforcement of questionable restrictions on civil liberties, mandatory and unlawful detainment, non-disclosure and pre-emptive uni-lateral military action. The public must be aware of the constant threat the civilized nations are under, and the final solution we present in the Bush doctrine. Excerpts from John Howard's Statement on the Republic Referendum. " I will vote no to Australia becoming a republic because I do not believe in changing a constitutional system which works so well and has helped bring such stability to our nation. " " There is nothing to be gained from tampering with a system of government which has contributed to our country being one of only a handful of nations which has remained fully democratic throughout the 20th century. " I assure you again, that the vast changes to our civil liberties, and our views on pre-emptive retaliation, will bring stability to the world. The stability that I talk about can only be achieved through uni-lateralism, and the Bush doctrine. The democracy of our nation is at stake.. It's not the 20th century anymore. http://www.australianpolitics.com/issues/republic/howard-statement.shtml -- Silvio Cesare
