Personal Mission Statement of James M. Atkinson,
President and Sr. Engineer, Granite Island Group
I have the backbone to stand up for what is right, moral, and
ethical. I have the honor to do the right thing, and unlike too many
others I refuse to just standby and let evil men pursue their deeds
in darkness. I will not have anything to do with someone I know to be
a criminal, and if I have even the slightest reason to believe that
they have a criminal history I will back away from them the second I
find out about it. In fact not only will I start backing away from
them, but they will hear me reloading the shotgun as I do it.
I will always pursue an eavesdropper, and a spy, a wrongdoer, a
crooked cop, or a felon, ... that is my job, and my chosen vocation.
If someone chooses to be an eavesdropper I will hunt them to the ends
of the Earth, if they are a felon or a crook and using electronics in
their work I will relentlessly stalk them until the are rendered
impotent. Let them be afraid.
When a spy, an eavesdropper, or felon lays down at night I want him
to be afraid to go to sleep, when he has a nightmare about being
caught I want it to be the TSCM'er who strikes fear in his heart, and
terror to his soul. When the eavesdropper lies on his deathbed and
the angel of death come to take him away I want death to be holding a
Scanlock instead of a scythe. I want them constantly looking over
their shoulder and expecting TSCM specialists to pounce on them and
start beating them with a NLJD. Let them fear black boxes, and weird
looking antennas, let them eat Xanax by the handful, and spend their
days in pain. I want the spy to have heart palpitations anytime they
see a silver briefcase, and I want them to loose control of their
bowels when they see a spectrum analyzer. When they sit all huddled
up in their listening post I want them praying that their target has
not hired me to hunt them. When the crooked cop installs an illegal
bug I will hunt them, when the phone company employee wiretap a line
without a court order then I will hunt them. When a government agency
oversteps the legal boundaries then I will be watching, and when a
spy shop is selling illegal bugs I will be the one who brings about
their demise. Let them be afraid.
Let them be afraid, let them be very afraid, for I am hunting them;
if I am not hunting them, then someone who I trained will be. Let
them be afraid.
I have earned a great deal of respect in the spyhunting profession,
have been regarded as a leader in the industry for many years, and
one of the reasons for that respect is that I have the backbone to
stand up and do the right thing, the same can not be said for many
others. Sure, being respected is nice, but if you are in the security
profession it is just as important to be feared by the wrongdoer. You
just can't have it both ways, and there are no gray areas in our profession.
I perform bug sweeps like it is a contact sport; I don't play fair, I
take no prisoners, and I give no quarter... My professional goal is
to stop the spy.
Let them be afraid, and not just of me.
"As smoke is driven away, so are they driven;
as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish"
[Psalms 68:2] --- Ego te Expello.
