Disclaimer: I am not a professional in TSCM.
When I buy the services of someone to do a bug
sweep, I am making a risk management decision that
the price of the sweep is less than the expected
value of the downside risk an unswept premises
entails. So much for rational decision making.
My real reason, presumably, is the desire to remain
unobserved (perhaps limited to the special case of
being unrecorded in audio). As things change, being
recorded in audio may become a worry of lesser heft.
Rather, IF (1) I think in terms of what is possible
now or soon, and (2) I maintain that what I want is
an assurance that I am unobserved, THEN the simple
desire (to be unobserved) begets a much more
complex problem set.
I fear setting off a discussion here that is
nothing but a waste of all your time. Nevertheless,
my question is when if ever do you tackle "being
unobserved" and not just "being unrecorded in sound"
or, for that matter, do you in fact ever move beyond
the special case of voice recording?
If wanting to spare the list, feel free to harangue
me off-list as d..._at_geer.org.
