Marty,
Totally love the 1059, SCD-5, 1080D and the RAS-515. These are must have it=
ems for any TSCM arsenal.
If you were to combine a RAS-515, a quad line TDR pinger, and a two line 10=
59 with low voltage bias you could really blow away a lot of people.
Instead of using just an oscilloscope for the RAS display use the video inp=
uts on a laptop, and force the timing singles so that the video digitizer i=
nside the computer has fooled by the fake timing signals, and you could get=
a raster display on the laptop. You could even mix the timing and the data=
together to form a composite signal and use a conventional LCD monitor.
The quad line pinger is for use with a four channel scope, and it really ne=
eds to have one set of circuits of in-house wiring (200 feet of less), and =
then a CO setting to blow a signal 5 miles. Use a switch to set the unit fr=
om short range to long range, and use a potentiometer (instead of a switch)=
to set up both the repetition rate, and the pulse width.
The box would use an external DVM, and an external O'Scope as the primary i=
nstruments, and use the video input port on the laptop, but where you faked=
the timing signals.
