Re: [TSCM-L] {2867} Re: Electronic bug hunting perfected to

However, the company's claimed technology that captures electronic
emanations might be related to the emanations transmitted by buildings'
structure and mech/elec systems. That would be a significant
contribution to the field if it demonstated a faster and more effective
technique to capture these little-known transmissions and help
institute tscm.
My experience is that few building architects and engineers know little
about how their structures leak information other than through walls
and wall openings -- acoustical and vibration isolation is about as far
as they go. Metal stud and gypsum board partitions are wonderful
antennas even if isolated for sound and vibration.
Should building designers become as aware of electronic emanations
are they are of other building characteristics and came to include
security measures against inadverdent emanations that would be
a big step forward in data security.
I would certainly like to have one of the devices to use along with
geiger counter, moisture meter, light meter, toxicity meter, and the
venerable standbys of eyes, nose, ears, feet, hands, gut and paranoia.
No building code requires tscm. Someday building codes will add
tscm to health, safety and NBC requirements.
Spies will be pissed and quickly coopt designers as they have
comsec and telecomm wizards.
