A flashlight and a ladder will sometimes find more bugs then a
$50,000 spectrum analyzer.

A really good ladder is maybe $200, and a good flashlight is another $50.

How many sweep folks do you know have a hundred grand in sweep gear,
but don't own even one fiberglass ladder?

More to follow in regards to ladders.

Devices found set off false bugging alarm

BERLIN, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Microphones discovered in the office of a
German lawmaker have set off what seems to be a false wiretapping alarm.

The microphones found above the ceiling lights of the office of
Wolfgang Neskovic, a far-left parliamentarian who sits on the
investigative committee tasked with probing the government's role in
anti-terrorism, on Tuesday briefly led to a wiretapping scare in the
German political scene.

The German Parliament said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that
after the devices were examined by the Federal Office for Security
and Information Technology, "with the microphones alone, surveying,
recording or forwarding the spoken word is not possible."

The devices were covered by a layer of dust that had settled atop of
the lamp, pointing to the fact that the microphones had not been used
for a long time.

But the case had unsettled some dust in Berlin Tuesday morning, since
Neskovic is a highly critical member of the parliamentary inquiry
committee tasked with probing possible wrongdoings by the former
German government when it comes to fighting terrorism abroad.

Inquiry committee head Sigfried Kauder, a senior lawmaker of
Chancellor Angela Merkel's center-right Christian Democratic Union,
said in a statement Tuesday that all members of the board have been
advised to check their offices for similar devices
