I will look and see if we still a schematic for the mark v,although sounds like you had a short and I would not expect it to work again the mosfet in these units are very sensitive and no longer available,I have worked on many of these maybe someday I will run across nos parts (always searching) the fact is these were great units and over 25 years old so don't expect much..
