I remember several years ago (circa 1996) on the Computer Chronicles, there
was a guy who had developed a small device for sensing if you were in the
vicinity
of a microphone (that was hot). I thought he called it the "Guardian" but I
searched
the net thoroughly (a few years ago) and could find nothing.

I'm now wondering if it might have had another name (like "sentinel") but
before I spend the time again searching, I thought I asked you folks first.
Anyone have a clue?

I remember that the cost of this device was very low... like $20. In my
previous search I could find nothing that came close to that cost.
