You can buy the 1059 with an internal speaker with no probem.

If you opt not to go with the 1059 I have also had very good luck in merely purchasing an amplified speaker and adding my own, low noise pre-amp inside the speaker itself.

If you get a large-enough-to-get-good base-response, and large enough to be driven by either C or D sized batteries you should have enough space for quite a bit of extra circuitry including space for a  transplanted 1059.

I already own several 1059s. The 'problem' with the 1059 and the CMA 100 is that they are designed to drive headphones.

What I am looking for is a small professional audio amp with an in built speaker. Not dissimilar to PC speakers I suppose, but I am looking for something a bit more robust.
