So true. This list is a diverse group of people. Sometimes you have to as=
k specific questions
and off list if needed.
A spect mon is just a tool. You will see them everywhere. Some folks use =
them more and
with greater skill than others.
Trust me, like in machine shop you best friends are a scale and file, in TS=
CM your best friends are
knee pads and a flashlight.
True bug hunting is a lot of crawling around in places the cleaning crew do=
n’t go. Your looking to see first
if someone has been there first and what they left.
A trained eye can tell a lot about a room. Is that fire extinguisher hose =
out of place, because that is
a great place for a bug.
Anyway..... ya got 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason. Listen, listen, liste=
n and think before you ask.
hope this helped,
Onion

urbanreef, I can understand the frustration you express but I think
your definition of TSCM is fairly narrow.
While I find information about bug sweeps and spectrum interesting, my
personal focus in TSCM is more in the TCP/IP space (including VOIP and
wireless). I work client side but have worked with LEOs, trained with
them and have provided training in this space including incident
response.
If you restrict your interactions to only people who can use a
spectrum analyzer and can present a business card from a "known" TSCM
provider you may be doing yourself a disservice.
Just my 2 cents.
Just my 2 cents.
