Sure, such unfair taking is called legitimate, yes, even
noble and beneficial to the nation, so long as those who
believe in it are in power. Too bad for these believers
that the practice evolves into uncontrolled greed and
leads to its Madoffian downfall, but never so bad that the
greeders have to return their unearned spoils.

Sure a few go to prison for criminal overreach, but most
don't. Sure a few lose their heads to mobs but most
suffocate in their panic rooms certain their help has
betrayed them for decades of abuse. Such is the
the compulsive need for spies and counterspies
at home, at work, especially in sanctuaries.
