There's something with even more pronounced effects: brass bands.
Rumours say brass bands are a product of clandestine military research.
The original aim was reconstruction of the acoustic weapon said to destroy
Jericho. However, while the researchers did not manage to produce a
man-portable weapon able to demolish cities, they ended up with a
crew-served weapon assembly highly efficient against people.
There is no coincidence that brass bands, despite being available, were
never used as an offensive weapon in an armed conflict. The generals
worried about both the possible retaliation in the same way, and the
indiscriminate effect of the sound on both the enemy, their own troops,
and the hapless civilians within range.
