Greenbrier Resort, located in West Virginia, is one of several former
COG facilities, and is not the same as Ritchie in Maryland, if that
base served as well. Others COG sites are still in operation, though
it is a bit hard to learn what and where all of them are, especially
the new ones. Google will list some of them as well as several
spoofs.
Greenbrier has just recently reopened the bunker for public tours
after being closed for several years after deactivation. There was
a news report about the release of several hundred photographs
of the bunker under construction and in use. A few of these were
distributed by the Associated Press which I got, but I have not
been able to learn where the full collection is -- probably at
the National Archives.
