Watch for the future mention that the CCD element can be swapped out
with hired $$ resolutions of alternative spectrum CCD sensors, without
actually replacing the cameras body itself.

The tech spec on the EXSPEED 3 processor itself at interesting as there
is sufficient power, bandwidth and speed to handle well over 100
mega-pixels, and anything over 30-40 mega-pixel is going to thrash the
daylight out of the medium format digital photography.

I have heard rumblings that this camera can take a thermal chip, or a
apochromatic chip and that there is some impressive UV sensitized in
some of the various CCD elements that will fit this new body. Buy just
rumblings at present, and some tech data sheets on some chips, but they
are not yet formally listing the chips to mate with the camera, at least
not quite yet. SO far is just this visible light version, but if they do
roll out a UV or IR chip, then the TSCM and forensics folks will go wild
over it.
