My Dad was a bookeeper. Three times in his career,
when he was told the combination to the company safe
it was the default show-room combination -- some
ditty like "two bit, six bits, four bits, five"
which is not it but you get the idea. Apparently,
at least in his time, safes all had a default
combination which he said was commonplace and
intended to prevent embarassment on show-room
floors if, for walk-in models, a customer got
himself locked in one.
