unfortunately FHSS offers almost no security, the only semblance of
security being that of obscuring the pseudo-random sequence of carrier
frequency selection.

when the "[marketing] literature" speaks of improved security, this is
the only aspect they are touting. it is trivial to discern the hop
sequence with a wide band receiver, and reclaim all communications.

for many commercial systems, it is also possible that the same model
can be adjusted to use the desired hop sequence of the target.

if you need strong security for wireless communication look at
WPA2-PSK VoIP handsets as a minimum. WPA2 will describe the privacy
layer as AES-CCMP. WPA2-Enterprise is better, but integration into
handsets is lacking.
