The listed unit is a smooth 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz, but you can get other
similar modules that go even higher in frequency. Inside this module is
a matched diode, that can be obtained from any number of sources for
only a few dollars.
The output woudl be applied to an inexpensive logarithmic amplifier such
as the AD8307 ($5.86), and then fed into a linear display or meter.
The gadget that is getting shown around integrates 48 detector diodes,
96 very sharp filters, and 24 log amps, then six A/D digitizer chips
with four circuits each to create the LCD display to form a pocket
sized, battery powered 2 GHz to 40+ GHz (about to hit 94+ GHz with the
new circuit boards) microwave detector and locator.
