The FBI has consistently proven they are not technologists; their recent
$170 million "Virtual Case Management" waste of taxpayer dollars and who
knows how many hundreds of millions wasted on Carnivore/DCS-1000 has
proven that. What they are trying to mandate under the auspices of
CALEA is a backdoor into carrier grade communications software and
equipment, i.e. Cisco IOS, DSLAM firmware, cable modem head ends, etc.

Just what US critical infrastructure needs.
