Intelligent Reporter templates designed for multi-signal methods may need to be adjusted after updating to ChemStation C.01.04. Non-calibrated peaks of signals calibrated in a main signal do no longer appear as calibrated compounds (as they are not quantified on the 2nd signal) but as un-identified peaks. Note: Calibration tables setup to "calculate signals separatly" are not affected by this design change.Temporary Solution:
In order to display the results of the mentioned peaks, the peak filter of the report template should be turned off completely (remove all check marks in the "show peak types" screen).Fix Information:
In rev. C.01.05. the mentioned peaks are treated as identified, but not quantified peaks.
Queue method generated status “error” when using 35900ETemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
After a firmware upgrade for LC modules using RC.NET drivers, the old firmware revision (prior to upgrade) is still displayed in the Instrument Configuration dialog.Temporary Solution:
Remove the affected modules from the configuration and re-add them.Fix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
7890 with ALS. Create an ALS error, such as a Vial not found event. Instead of offering a pop-up that offers a second chance to Retry/Abort with the named error, this simply aborts the sequence. The error is buried deep in the sequence log of that instrument: 'Method Method started: (F) line# 2 at 2 inj# 1 09:11:51 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f27198 0 Method Instrument running sample Vial 2 (front) 09:11:52 09/20/07 0 1da5 46f271b2 300 GC 1 There was no bottle in the gripper. 09:12:18 09/20/07 0 1da6 46f271b2 0 Instrument GCI1 did not start a run 09:12:18 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f271b2 0 Method Instrument Error - Method/Sequence stopped 09:12:18 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f271b2 0 Method Method aborted 09:12:18 09/20/07 43e 41df 46f271b2 0 Sequence FRONTALS.S terminated due to an error 09:12:18 09/20/07'Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Issue resolved in OpenLAB C.01.05.
7890A with ALS. If an ALS error, occurs such as a Vial not found event, there is no dialog box option presented to Retry/Abort. The sequence simply aborts. The error is shown in the sequence log of that instrument: 'Method Method started: (F) line# 2 at 2 inj# 1 09:11:51 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f27198 0 Method Instrument running sample Vial 2 (front) 09:11:52 09/20/07 0 1da5 46f271b2 300 GC 1 There was no bottle in the gripper. 09:12:18 09/20/07 0 1da6 46f271b2 0 Instrument GCI1 did not start a run 09:12:18 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f271b2 0 Method Instrument Error - Method/Sequence stopped 09:12:18 09/20/07 67 41e0 46f271b2 0 Method Method aborted 09:12:18 09/20/07 43e 41df 46f271b2 0 Sequence FRONTALS.S terminated due to an error 09:12:18 09/20/07' GC goes back to "ready" state instead, and vials remain in the position they were when the injector failed (not returned to tray).Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
7890A system using overlap injection feature 1. Define a sample overlap of 1 min. 2. Define a sequence of 5 runs 3. Insert 4 vials only The 7890A GC starts the acquisition of Vial 4 correctly. When it starts to prepare and pick up vial 5 which is missing, the acquisition of vial 4 is stopped and the sequence aborts. When sample overlap is enabled and the vial to be prepared is not found, the currently running sample in the sequence will abort. The sequence will stop and there will be errors displayed in the sequence logbook and GC status. The error messages displayed are as follows: - Command to Tray failed: Tray Prep Failure Code: 250: Front injector has no vail in turret... - User stopped pretreatment program, finalizing. - Instrument Error - Method/Sequence stopped - Method aborted - Sequence.S terminated due to an error - Sequence.S completedTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Acq.txt and acq.macaml is missing for 7890A back injector only sequencesTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
When run is spooled in Batch Review, click on menu Calibration –> New Caibration Table, select OK and overwrite existing table Click OK on calibration table when it is displayed For a brief moment an error is displayedTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Can't show calibration table based on Height when printing calibration table curvesTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Enter “ug/ml” for “Amount Units” in the “Calibration settings”. The calibration table was updated with “Amt (ug/ml)” but the calibration table printout for the Overview table indicated “Amt (wt%)”. This also happens with “Amt (kg)” and the calibration report printout still reflects as “Amt (wt%)”.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
When a new result set is created from a sequence with compound custom fields, the new sequence is missing the compound custom fields.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Issues fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
When printing the final Intelligent Report, not all the fields are reported (for example the field for injection line 13 is present in the Custom Fields but not in the report).Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
A Peak Summing Table containing two segments and each segment has a Use Reference for the response factor and an ISTD Reference. The Chemstation does not report the amounts for each segment correctly.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Completed a single run with manual fraction collection. In Chemstation Data Analysis, loaded the datafile and switched to "Purify". The UIB1 chromatogram does not show the fractions.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
The CDS Supported Instruments and Firmware Guide does not list the correct firmware for the 7683A injector. The correct firmware is A.10.07.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
CDS Supported Instruments and Firmware Guide has been updated with the correct firmware revision in OpenLAB C.01.05.
During reprocessing (especially with complex reports as e.g. the Performance reports) the menu items and icon for locking the ChemStation are frequently not accessible because ChemStation is busy. The user has to wait for a point of time where ChemStation is not busy.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.05.
When a method is downloaded from ECM and this download is repeated in the same session an error message appears: The Server Path is not identical. This message is incorrect. One of the two path strings has a leading backslash, whole the other does not. There is also a warning that the method already exists. This message is correct.Temporary Solution:
Repeat the download attempt. It works the second time.Fix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
When selecting ECM -> Update Methods.. in the ChemStation Method and Run Control View, the dialog box locks up if more than a certain number of methods are linked to ECM which can be as low as 20.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
G1888A configuration Set Handshake to Abort Start Sequence Open GC oven door to prior to end of vial equilibration time. GC Logbook records: G1888 - Job Stopped prematurely. However, Detailed Vial status never updates for vial one. It will say Preparing for injection is 'In Process' and is stuck at 40%. Status will go to Ready. ChemStation software has to be manually aborted. An error in headspace (HS) that should abort the datasystem, no longer aborts. Abort does work using a 7697A.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
From the Configure Instrument user interface, there are configurable modules such as 7890A, 7697A, 7694B. If the GC’s location in the “Selected Modules” table in not listed first or as module 1, k’ is not calculated. For example, if the 7697 is module 1 and the 7890A is module 2 then the requests for column info would fail and k' (Capacity factor) is not calculated. Column information will not be included in reports.Temporary Solution:
The order in the module table is set by the order in configuration. The workaround is to re-order configuration so that 78xx is first.Fix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
In C.01.04 one new timed event appeared: Height Reject. The expected behaviour for an event parameter would be a numeric value for the minimum peak height. Instead a selection box allows values TAN and DROP. The timed event Height Reject should not have been in the selection list. Do not use Timed height reject in C.01.04.Temporary Solution:
Don't use this event. Timed Area Reject works as expected.Fix Information:
Fixed in C..01.05 by adding the event with the expected functionality.
When a method is loaded that requires resolution, the user has the possibility to cancel loading of this method and return to the previous method. In this case, a macro error is observed "error occurred during loading method", and the previous method is loaded, but is marked as changed.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
GC with 7693 tray and dual injectors: create and save a method for that configuration. Close session, unplug the tray, select to Configure... in Control Panel and Get GC Configuration. Open an offline session of the instrument. User cannot save any method now. OK to the Method Editor and get: '--------------------------- --------------------------- Method is not consistent with the configuration. Reason: Configuration mismatch: Tray --------------------------- OK ---------------------------'Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.05.
When the user select any items from “Check method sections to edit” and click on “OK”, there is no action. The dialog box remains at its position.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
The internal command "Macro" can be used to load a macro file from disk. Typing macro from the command line opens a dialog that points to the Chem32\Core\ folder and allows selecting *.mac and *.mcx files. In C.01.04 *.mac files are no longer selectable.Temporary Solution:
Use the macro name and its full location as parameter. Example: Macro shutdown.mac (equivalent to Macro C:\chem32\core\shutdown.mac) Macro C:\chem32\core\addon\install.macFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.05.
The ChemStation scheduler cannot establish a connection with instruments on an AIC. When a command is processed, the message "Instrument not found" will be listed in the result column.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB revision C.01.05
The Mass-Based Purification (Fraction Collection) report is missing information in RC.NET mode; this same information is available in Classic mode. The "Mass" column in the report should specify which detected mass(es) triggered the fraction collection; this feature is currently available in Classic mode only. Additionally, the Fraction Tick Marks displayed are incorrect as is the BeginTime & EndTime information in the report Fraction Information section. The Fraction Tick Marks do not line up accurately with the collected fractions triggered by the LC/MS; these values have the MS Delay Time added to them, which is incorrect.Temporary Solution:
To determine which masses triggered Fraction Collection or what the actual Fraction Collection BeginTime and EndTime values are, open the affected ChemStation data file (.D folder) and open the file MBFC.ini. This MBFC.INI file contains the Mass-Based Fraction Collection triggering events, including Mass, Collection ON, and Collection OFF information. Do not modify this file. The format of MBFC.INI must be interpreted linearly.Fix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
On systems accessed via Remote Desktop, the on screen classic report may not be displayed properly. Part of the baseline, x-axis or y-axis labels may be missing. This is only affecting the chromatogram in the on-screen classic report. The printed report or display in the data analysis view will correctly show the baseline, axis markers and labels. Affected revisions: C.01.03 and C.01.04.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB revision C.01.05.
ChemStation C.01.03: XML results: The 'ESTD %' and 'ISTD %' result types in the Quant Calc node are incorrectly reported as 'ESTD' and 'ISTD'. This is confusing the receiving LIMS system. The printed reports have correct titles.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Acquisition method name is not displayed in an intelligent reportTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Report Style LCMS and LCMS Qualitative: Missing Report Style Options: -Background Subtract -Spectrum Average Peak -EICTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Create a five line sequence using Add-on CTC. Run sequence, removing vial three. CTC will report missing vial and it is shown in the log book for CTC. CTC will reset and go back to ready state, however, ChemStation will hang. All menu items are grayed out and you cannot touch anything on the system. The ChemStation must be ended in Task Manager.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Issue resolved in OpenLAB C.01.05.
The GC Chemstation never had the ability to skip a missing vial (the classic GC driver posts a dialog box asking the user what to do, abort or retry). With RC.NET, if there is no vial on the tray the system stops the sequences, uploads the data to ECM and goes to the next sequence. Need to be able to specify what the system should do if there is a missing vial, skip or wait.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Issue resolved in OpenLAB C.01.05.
During the first run of the sequence, the custom field window is only prompted for the Front injector.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Issue fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
When reprocessing the sequence, it is not possible to stop it. The stop button is present, but does not to work. The user has to wait till the whole sequence reprocess completes.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
The dialog box to map a sequence import file (Sequence -> Import Sequence Template) is missing the LimsID columns. The LimsID 2 and LimsID 3 columns specifically are read-only fields that need to be imported in order to ensure that a unique LimsID can later be used in the result export to the Lims to ensure results are matched to the correct sample.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
Migrated a sequence from B.04.03 SP1 with 'Unique folder creation OFF' to C.01.04. Used the 'Result set migration' tool to migrate the data to a result set. In online ChemStation, the result set was reprocessed. In the sequence.log file, 'CP Macro Number format error in: %d' was displayed.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
C.01.04 Chinese version, the values under Overview Table are not aligned with the parameter heading of : RT, Sig, Lvl, Amt[wt%], Area, Rsp.Factor ,Ref, ISTD, #, Compound.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in OpenLAB C.01.05.
By OpenLAB ChemStation Edition C.01.04 the requirement for ECM's remote data path (LCDF) became more strict than before. If for editing the Sequence Parameters dialog is opened, and a backslash at the LCDF's begin is missing, the builtin check of this dialog-box will demand a manual correction by the user. This can happen especially once loading a sequence template file from an earlier version of OpenLAB ChemStation Edition. The later release of OpenLAB ChemStation Edition (like e.g. C.01.05) will tolerate and correct the missing leading backslash at ECM's remote datat path (LCDF) in Sequence Parameters dialog automatically. Execution of sequences by OpenLAB ChemStaation Edition is not affected. I.e. sequence templates do NOT have to be corrected, neither for sequence execution nor for sequence reprocessing.Temporary Solution:
Leaving the opened Sequence Parameters Dialog by OK is interdicted until all parameters are in valid ranges. This now for OpenLAB ChemStation C.01.04 requires the remote data path (LCDF) for ECM to start with a leading backslash. If at some sequence template (e.g. from an earlier version of OpenLab ChemStation Edition) this character was missing, it now has to be inserted. Only then the Sequnece Parameters dialog can be successfully closed and left with OK-button.Fix Information:
n/a
FPD checkout macro used for FPD sample test. This FPD macro uses "autoint.mac" . OL CDS ChemStation C.01.04 no longer includes "autoint.mac" in the CORE directory. The following message occurs when loading the FPD Checkout macro: "Could not open file: C:\CHEM32\CORE\AUTOINT.MAC"Temporary Solution:
Copy "autoint.mac" from OL CDS ChemStation C.01.03 and add it to the Core directory of OL CDS ChemStation C.01.04 .Fix Information:
The macro code has been updated and does the following: •Checks to see if the “AutoIntegrate” macro has already been loaded. If so, it does nothing. •If “Autointegrate” macro has not been loaded, it looks for the file autoint.mac. If the file is found, it is loaded. •If autoint.mac is not found, it looks for the file sig_integ.mcx. If that file is found, it is loaded. The new macros work with or without autoint.mac. Autoint.mac is found in the CORE directory up until C.01.03. Beginning in C.01.04, autoint.mac is no longer included in Core. Autoint.mac is now part of sig_integ.mcx. The eLibrary User Contributed Software has been updated with the updated macros. They are also attached.
