---------------------------------------------------------------------- HP ChemStation for GC, LC, CE and A/D Version A.04.02 History ---------------------------------------------------------------------- General Information ------------------- This document outlines the software changes in the A.04.02 version of the HP ChemStation software for 3DCE, GC and HPLC and A/D relative to version A.04.01. This Revision ------------- This revision is a MINOR software revision that typically does not require revalidation of your computer system. Operating System ---------------- The software runs on MS-DOS Rev. 5.xx and 6.xx and Microsoft Windows version 3.1/Microsoft Windows for Workgroups version 3.11 or Windows 95. Due to the greatly enhanced system resource management implemented in Windows 95, Windows 95 is the recommended operating environment for the HP ChemStation. An upgrade to Windows 95 is highly recommended especially for multi-instrument configurations of the HP ChemStation. PC Hardware Requirements ------------------------ Minimum PC: 80486/50DX Recommended PC: Pentium 90 Recommended OS: Windows 95 Other OS (*): MS-DOS 5.0 (or greater) and Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Screen Resolution: 600*800 pixels (SVGA) or greater Memory requirements are... 16 MB for a single instrument 2D ChemStation +4 MB for every additional instrument +4 MB to add DAD and VWD spectral evaluation +4 MB to take advantage of the Graphical User-Interface Multi-Instrument Configurations ------------------------------- Multi-instrument configurations of the HP ChemStation require the enhanced system resource management of the Windows 95 operating environment. Lack of system resources can lead to unexpected failures under Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11. If you do not use Windows 95, we recommend disabling user interface elements (toolbars and the graphical user interface for the HP 1100) to reduce system resource usage and avoid running more than two HP ChemStation sessions at the same time. While acquiring data in three and four instrument configurations, interactive data reprocessing is not recommended for the same reason. ________________________________________________________________________ New Features ------------ - Support of new inlets for the HP 6890 (PTV, large volume injection, PCOC, SVE) Defect Fixes ------------ Defects are tracked in Hewlett-Packard's Software Tracking and Reporting System (STARS). Each report has a unique number. For more details, refer to the Software Status Bulletin contained on the Supplemental Disk of the HP ChemStation.
