HP 10889B PC Servo-Axis Board

[ Summary ][ Features ][ Specifications ][ Key Literature ][ Ordering ][ Assistance ][ Related ]
The HP 10889B PC Servo-Axis Board is a programmable, digital servo with built-in motion control algorithms. The combined servo-axis board provides a complete closed-loop positioning solution for PC-based laser interferometer systems. It offers both high resolution and a high sample rate. Output is a +/- 10 V analog motor drive signal updated at 20 kHz. Position outputs are available over the PC backplane and via direct hardware output.

Up to six servo-axis boards can be used in a single system for independent, multiple-axis operation. Configured with the appropriate laser heads, optics, sensors, and cables, the HP 10889B is well suited for applications such as servo-track writing on multiple high-density disk drives. Combining the high performance of HP laser interferometers with the lowest-priced, industry-standard ISA backplane speeds development and reduces system costs.

PID and IIR Filters

Programmable control includes selectable difference equations: PID (proportional, integral, differential); IIR (infinite impulse response); user-modifiable downloadable; or customized routines.

Tuning Software

The Tune program provides a front-panel display for the PC servo-axis board. Quickly tune your system using either the PID or IIR difference equation -- simply enter setup parameters and equation coefficients. Menus and softkeys lead you through system profiles.

Trace Capability

The Tune program uses trace during profiled moves to display complete profiles of reference position, following error, difference equation output, and motor drive signal. Record system performance data during moves and display it for immediate feedback.

Robust Feature Set

Features include: destination pipelining; programmable settle detect algorithm and latched out-of-null indication; programmable interrupts.
