HP 4380S RF Balanced-Cable Test System

The HP 4380S system simplifies research and development and engineering characterization of balanced cable and connecting hardware up to 500MHz.

The system makes balanced and unbalanced measurements on unshielded twisted pair(UTP) or shielded twisted pair(STP) cables and related components with wide ranges of characteristic impedance values. These cables and related hardware are normally used for high data rate transmission and/or EIA/TIA 568 category 5(or greater) LAN applications.

HP's application of the modal decomposition method eliminates BALUNs for higher accuracy, and bandwidths to 500MHz
