HP 5517C Laser Head

The HP 5517C Laser Head, used in HP interferometer systems, offers a vacuum wavelength accuracy of +/- 0.1 ppm, 700 mm per second axis velocity for linear optics, and a standard beam diameter of 6 mm. The HP 5517C Option 003 provides a 3 mm beam diameter for use with the HP 10719A and HP 10721A differential interferometers. The HP 5517C Option 009 allows a larger angular range of measurement by providing a 9 mm beam diameter for use with the HP 10735A and HP 10736A three-axis interferometers. The laser head uses a proven long-life laser tube with a demonstrated Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of greater than 50,000 hours of operation.

The HP 5517C is configured with appropriate optics and system electronics to build a laser interferometer system that meets the unique physical layout and measurement requirements of individual applications. The custom positioning system improves product quality, increases yields, and facilitates manufacture of precision products.

The HP 5517C can be used in a variety of laser-interferometer
positioning systems, including the HP PC-compatible and VMEbus
compatible systems.

The HP 5517C Option 003 (3 mm beam diameter) can be used with the HP
10719A one-axis and HP 10721A two-axis differential interferometers.

The HP 5517C Option 009 (9 mm beam diameter) can be used with the HP
10735A and HP 10736A three-axis interferometers.
