Product Summary

The HP 8657A Option H46 signal generator provides 0.5 Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (0.5 GMSK) modulation for testing Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) systems. This option contains the necessary premodulation filtering and signal-processing circuitry to generate precise 0.5 GMSK modulation over the entire 520 to 1040 MHz and 10 to 130 MHz frequency bands. The versatility of the signal generator provides the CDPD system designer with source signals which simplify CDPD system performance verification. The AM features of the instrument can be used to stimulate amplitude fluctuations, while dcFM can be used to add doppler shifts to test signals.

The HP 8657A Option H64 is also a versatile signal generator offering a variety of features, such as simultaneous and mixed modulation combinations of AM and FM, as well as a carrier phase adjust capability that allows you to characterize phase-sensitive devices. The low residual FM and excellent phase noise performance of this signal generator makes it ideal for m any in-channel and even out-of-channel receiver tests. It offers a wide output range, +13 to -143.5 dBm with superior level accuracy of 1.0 dB. Built for reliability, this signal generator uses an all-electronic attenuator, which is backed with a five-year warranty to ensure that you will make consistent, repeatable measurements every time.
