HP E2261A Quad RS-232 Interface M-Module

The HP E2261A Quad RS-232 Interface M-Module is a single-wide, register-based M-Module. Because of its dense double-sided design, it is recommended for use with only the HP E2251A C-size M-Module carrier. The HP E2261A has four independently programmable RS-232 terminal interfaces. Using the available breakout cable (option 001), you can route these four interfaces to four different locations. In a loaded HP E2251A (five HP E2261A units), you can have 20 serial interfaces! The built-in data handshaking and the internal 2KB data buffers per channel reduce communication overhead.

With software limitations, the HP E2261A can be used as a general purpose RS-232 communications module for control of other instruments.

With each M-Module having its own address within the HP E2250A and HP E2251A M-Module carrier, you have the flexibility to use the M-Modules in many combinations. This flexibility allows you to get the amount of functionality you need in smaller blocks, lowering your overall system costs.
