The HP E4217B NNI Signalling Test Software is HP's new and enhanced solution for Network-Node Interface (NNI) testing. The product utilizes the Broadband ISDN User Part (B-ISUP) protocol, and has been designed as an application for HP's widely-used Broadband Series Test System (BSTS). This latest version supports new features defined in the ITU-T's recently announced Capability Set 2.1, intended to standardize NNI features, as well as ANSI and Bellcore variants, and the ATM Forum's Broadband Inter Carrier Interface( B-ICI) Version 2.1.

Monitoring of signalling messages is done real-time. Reference emulation of the SSCOP, SSCF, MTP-3b signalling message handling is build according to the full standards without short cuts so that you can use this as a reference to test with confidence. Simulation of the B-ISUP protocol is made easy with graphical B-ISUP and MTP-3b PDU editors. Signalling PDUs can be edited to construct valid and invalid messages to test device response. For example, users can enter invalid values into B-ISUP and MTP-3b message fields to isolate faults or simulate network signalling problems. Custom B-ISUP parameters can be easily built, sent, and stored for later reuse.

This product complements the comprehensive family of twelve available BSTS ATM signalling applications and conformance test suites and makes the industry-standard HP Broadband Series Test System (BSTS) the broadest and most powerful ATM Signalling test system. The BSTS can perform comprehensive testing of all layers, from physical through higher services. Due to its modular nature, you can create a customized configuration that suits your specific test needs.

The industry-standard HP BSTS is fully-programmable and is ideal for R&D engineering, product development, quality assurance, performance, type approval, and conformance testing.
