HP E5050A Colloid Dielectric Probe |
The HP E5050A Colloid Dielectric Probe offers new capabilities for measuring liquids with bulk conductive properties in-situ and without sample preparation. The dielectric profile of a material often yields key parameters about the nature of colloids. Applications include: Uniformity and concentration of dispersed phase; particle size and shape; colloidal structure analysis, emulsification analysis.
Although dielectric spectroscopy is a well established technique, its use has so far been limited to non-conducting systems because of the electrode polarization problem. This limitation has been overcome because the E5050A uses an electrodeless system which provides permittivity and conductivity data from 200 kHz to 20 MHz.
The new sensing technique solves the electrode polarization problem which has limited dielectric spectroscopy to low-conductivity systems.
Perform measurements by simply putting the probe into the liquid material. The probe size and shape make it suitable for on-line monitoring and control applications.
Frequency range: 200 kHz to 20 MHz specified 75 kHz to 30 MHz operating Measurement Parameters: Relative Permittivity: e', e'' Conductivity : k', k'' Maximum Temperature 120 deg. C.
