HP E6273B ILMI Emulation Test Software

The HP E6273B is a comprehensive ILMI Emulation test package for the industry standard Broadband Series Test System (BSTS). Its expanded functionality can be integrated with related signalling test software and conformance test suites, allowing simultaneous examination of the key elements required for debugging, qualification and evaluation of ILMI network and terminal devices, all on a single, powerful test platform. It allows users to have complete control of ALL ILMI parameters.

The ILMI Emulation Test Software tests the key functions required to support successful setup and teardown of SVCs. It does that by emulating configuration, address registration and keep-alive on a real-time bases. The emulation machine is built without shortcut according to the full protocal specifcations, allowing the users to catch problems that other test equipment may not detect.

Decode and display of ILMI protocol data units (PDUs) is also performed in real time. Thesoftware automatically translates standard object identifiers to their textual equivalents, simplifying testing.

Quick and easy configuration of ILMI procedures to be tested over the AAL-5 protocol layer permits users to identify network objects by simple names, rather than confusing object identifiers, and provides a powerful set of capabilities for examining and editing both standard and manufacturer-specific MIB tables and values.

The HP E6273B can be used to test ILMI implementations for support of both UNI and PNNI Signalling. Since it supports virtually any MIB that conforms to Version 1 Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) specifications, the relevant MIB can be loaded for the specific test applications. The software also provides extensive support for SNMP operations.
