HP E7845A ATM Forum UNI 4.0 Signalling Conformance Test Suite for the User Side

The HP E7845A ATM Forum UNI 4.0 Signalling Conformance Test Suite for the User Side provides an Automated Test Suite to verify the conformance of an ATM End System equipment (e.g., an ATM NIC card) to the user side of the UNI 4.0 Signalling specification.

Based on ATM Forum UNI Signalling Specification Version 4.0 (af-sig-0061.000), July 1996, and ITU-T Recommendation Q.2931, Feb. 1995, the Abstract Test Suite (ATS) has been derived by HP from the UNI 3.1 Signalling ATS for User Side and is written in TTCN IS. The Test Matrix which served as the basis for this ATS has been presented to the ATM Forum. The complete ATS will be presented to the ATM Forum for approval.

ATM Network equipment manufacturers and network operators can expect to achieve higher confidence with regard to their signalling implementation with this automated conformance test software.

• This suite tests the normal behavior of the network side equipment. It contains an estimated 273 test cases in 3 test groups:
  • 7 Outgoing
  • 136 Incoming
  • 130 Clearing
• Point-to-point call establishment (outgoing and incoming calls) and call clearing
• ATM Anycast capability
• Connection characteristics negotiation during call establishment (Section 8.0 of UNI 4.0 specs)
• Signalling of individual QoS (Quality of Service) parameters (Section 9.0)
• ABR (Available Bit Rate) capability (Section 10.0)
• Frame Discard capability
