The HP E8400A, the first member of HP’s new VXI mainframe family, is Hewlett-Packard’s newest C - size, 13 - slot VXI mainframe. The HP E8400A VXI Mainframe is designed for applications requiring high reliability and low cost. It features state- of-the-art cooling technology, mainframe monitoring, improved backplane design, and versatile accessories.

The HP E8400A VXI Mainframe provides confidence in operation with HP's new monitor features. This monitor includes indicators that provide instant assurance that the power supply and cooling are operating well in the system and that there is backplane data flow. The diagnostic connector, conveniently located on the front of the mainframe, provides connection to allow remote monitoring of power supply voltages, power supply and backplane temperatures, and fan function. This connector also allows remote on/standby, access to + 5V STDBY, ACFAIL, SYSRESET, and easy diagnostics.

The highly reliable power supply in the HP E8400A VXI Mainframe provides over 700 watts of usable power, sufficient for most applications. The innovative impeller design in the HP E8400A VXI Mainframe provides extremely quiet and efficient cooling.
