HP ESG-D Series: Option UN5 Multichannel IS-95 CDMA Personality

The HP ESG-D series of digital RF signal generators provide a wide range of digital modulation capabilities, in addition to a comprehensive feature set and excellent analog performance -- at an affordable price. Recent enhancements to the HP ESG-D series include multichannel CDMA testing capability. With this new capability engineers working on CDMA base stations and mobile equipment can now test devices under real-world conditions. Up to 256 Walsh-coded channels can be generated to qualify components under realistic, worst-case conditions - such as a fully loaded base station with interference from adjacent base stations. (This new capability requires option UN5 - multichannel CDMA personality, and option UND - dual arbitrary waveform generator).

Chip (symbol) rate:           1.2288 MHz, adjustable from 1 Hz to 10 MHz

Modulation:                   QPSK (forward) with Walsh and Short Code spreading
                              Offset QPSK (reverse) with Short Code spreading
                              of random data

Pre-Defined Channel Configurations (power levels per IS-97-A) 
Pilot Channel:                Includes IS-95 modified filter, with equalizer
9 Channel:                    Includes Pilot, Paging, Sync, 6 Traffic and IS-95
                              modified filter, with equalizer
32 Channel:                   Includes Pilot, Paging, Sync, 29 Traffic and IS-95
                              modified filter, with equalizer
64 Channel:                   Includes Pilot, 7 Paging, Sync, 55 Traffic and IS-95
                              modified filter, with equalizer
Reverse Channel:              Includes IS-95 filter

All filters are IS-95 compliant. 'Modified' filters reduce spurious emissions for
adjacent channel power measurements.
