Hardware Capture Filters:
   By MAC, IP addresses
   By protocol fields or pattern matching

Triggers:
   Supported in pass through and node mode
   Available when using MAC filtering, but not IP filtering
   MAC or IP addresses
   802.3x flow control
   User-definable (offset based, < or = 15 byte maskable pattern)
   Trigger on any in protocol fields in IP, IPX
   Trigger on TCP port number, TCP TTL

Decodes:
   7-layer decodes of all major protocols (over 200, including
      802.1p, 802.1Q)
   Detailed, summary and hexadecimal, sycnhronized
   Time-relative, absolute, delta

   by station: to/from MAC, network layer address, protocol field
      (e.g., time to live)

      MAC and IP address increment by 1
      interframe spacing (min. 12 byte times; max. 32,000 byte times)
      ability to send up to four blocks of 20 frames
      ability to send ARP/ping frames

Playback and Edit:
   From capture buffer or file
   Max frames to play back 32,000
   Specify range of frames to play back; e.g., 4,000 - 20,500
   Single shot or automatic repeat mode
   Global search and replace of MAC and IP address with FCE
      recalculation upon transmission
   Global search and replace for a specific field; e.g., TCP port,
      TTL with checksum recalculation
   Edit one or many frames
   Send in same time relationship as received (to 1 usec)
   Specify interframe gap or frame departure time for entire range of
      frames to be sent or playback at user-defined scalable rate
   Specify invalid interframe gap
   Functions in node mode only, and is the only measurement running
   Only data captured on port A (node mode) can be replayed.  If
      data is captured in through mode, the data source must be
      connected to port A with the DUT connected to port B.
      For replay, the DUT must be connected to port A.

Benchmark Testing
   Measurement and display of latency, throughput and frame loss
      based on RFC 1944
   Ability to make individual measurements of latency, throughput or
      frame loss

Link Configuration
  Pass through mode:
      Monitor link configuration
      No other measurements available while monitoring
      Decode of base page plus hex dump of the next 16 words
  Node mode:
      Participate in hardware auto-negotiation which can also be monitored
