HP SCL(R) High Level Scripting Language for HP RTAP![]()

The foundation of HP SCL(R) is Tcl/Tk, developed at the University of California, Berkeley with support from Hewlett-Packard, Computer Processes Unlimited, Inc., and others. Tcl is recognized as a standard, extensible scripting language for open systems, and Tk is its X Windows extension. Tcl s powerful interpreter core includes variables, lists, mathematical functions, control structures, and support for file systems and sockets. HP SCL(R) provides true portability across operating systems and system architectures without time-consuming code changes or costly recompiling.
HP SCL(R) extends the Tcl command set to access all major components of the HP RTAP application program interface (API) so development is simpler and faster. Wide availability of other third-party SCL extensions for systems such as Oracle® and Sybase further simplify the integration of HP RTAP systems into a corporate computing system.
As a standalone scripting language for HP RTAP, HP SCL(R) allows:
