Different multiplexers can switch one wire (high with a common low), or three wires (high, low, and guard or common). The choice of switching topology can be a trade-off between higher point count with single-ended switching or superior measurement accuracy (for example, three-wire guarded measurements). In addition to the FET Multiplexers shown here, HP also offers a full line of Relay Multiplexer Modules.
