The Birkenau cremation furnaces were disigned so that no visible smoke was emitted from the chimneys during cremations. If cremations were occurring at the time that air photos were taken from May to September, 1944, smoke would not be visible in the photos. This artist was supposedly told about the smoke from alleged 'eye witnesses', who could not have been telling the truth.
