Air Photo Interpreters in 1944

A group of British and American air photo interpreters work at the large Medmenham interpretation center located near London, England. Air photo interpretation developed into a top priority program by 1943. Spies in Europe were continually channelling rumours, and supposed 'eye-witness' accounts, to England, which were summarized and given to the interpreters, who would study air photos of that area for evidence as to whether the spy reports could be confirmed. This type of detailed work was done on the Birkenau and Auschwitz I air photos for evidence the camps were being used as extermination centers.
