Two more formations, at Cranbrook, Ontario and Agassiz, British Columbia. Cranbrook formation (the second one now) is in field about 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) south of first formation, a dumbbell with connecting outer ring in wheat, approximately 45 metres (150 feet) diameter. Agassiz formation is a circle with short path and two smaller rectangles next to it in cattle corn (same location as one in 1995), approximately 100 kilometres (62 miles) east of Vancouver and not too far from the location of the two formations in cattle corn at Mission in 2002. Some initial photos, diagrams and field reports are on the CCCRN web site. I'm going out to the Agassiz site next Tuesday to do a ground survey; more photos and field report, etc. to follow (I live in Vancouver). Then it's off to Saskatchewan August 30, with full reports to follow also of course. There is also an eighth formation, report pending. Location and details are being kept confidential temporarily by request due to it's unusual nature until a ground study can be done. A full report will follow after that. The fifth Canadian formation reported for this year, near Revenue, Saskatchewan, north-west of Saskatoon. Shown on local CTV News. Aerial photos have been added to the web site. Complex pictogram, approximately 102 metres (339 feet) long. Swollen stalk nodes and twisted stems below the seed heads reported, similar to the recent formation at Wallacetown, Ontario and Moosomin, Saskatchewan in 2000, an anomaly seen in only a few formations worldwide over the years. Further details and ground reports pending from CCCRN Saskatchewan. Some initial ground photos of the Wallacetown, Ontario formation have also been added to the web site. Tight, flat spiral lay of the crop and stems twisted again below the seed heads. A bunch more news reports and upcoming radio interviews have also been added to the media page on the web site (the radio programs can also be listened to over the internet), plus over 5,000 people have now visited the formation at Hensall, Ontario. Crop Circles : Second Crop Circle found in Wisconsin. Photos and report. |

A very large crop circle formation was discovered in wheat near the village of Clyman (pop. 370) in Wisconsin, roughly 20 miles from the Kekoskee / Mayville formation on Saturday, August 9, 2003 by Jeff Wilson and his team. After obtaining permission to enter the field from the farmer (who requested to remain anonymous), they were struck by how large the formation was, because when they spotted it from the road, only part of one circle was visible - but the formation was over 350' along one axis and over 175' along the other axis. [The main formation overhead] It consisted of seven different-sized circles - one with a ring; the largest circle being around 78' in diameter; all were connected by pathways. An additional four circle "grapeshot" formation was also found in the field. Click Read More... |

Crop Circles : A Field Report of the Howell, Michigan Crop Circle Formation |

On July 29-31, 2003, a private scientific research team documented physical evidence revealing that the Howell Township, Livingston County, Michigan crop circle formation was not made by hoaxers. The team consisted of Jeffrey Wilson, Todd Lemire, and Dr. Charles Lietzau of Michigan, and Roger Sugden of Indiana. Arriving at the field on July 29, 2002, we discovered and photographed the presence of several anomalies that cannot be duplicated by hoaxers. [Ground photo of Howell Township crop circle formation facing West.] Account of DiscoveryMike Esper, the farmer, on the afternoon of July 24, was harvesting his field at the corner of Mason and Burkhardt roads when he noticed a small, approximately 10’ diameter circle of flattened wheat near the Western edge of his wheat field. He didn’t think very much of it, other than considering it might have been made by some kids, and drove his combine right over the top of it. Soon after, about 100 feet to the East, Mr. Esper spotted a much larger, flattened circle of wheat, and steered his harvester around the circle leaving approximately 10-15 feet of standing wheat bordering the flattened wheat. Crop Circles : 'Trash' talk show hosts claim responsibility for MI Crop Cir |

In what is a blatantly obvious attempt to capitalize on some free publicity, a local radio station and two of it's 'Trash Talk Show' hosts are claiming responsibility for the Howell, MI. crop circles. Quote: In a statement, radio station WKQI said on July 14, at about 3:00 a.m. EDT, members of one the station's shows "created small crop circles in a cornfield" in Howell Township, about 50 miles northwest of Detroit. The show's geniuses, known as ``Gallagher'' and ``Corky'' were unable to distinguish between a corn field and a wheat field, even though all the previous stories published clearly stated the formation had appeared in wheat. Perhaps what the shows hosts lack in literacy skills they make up for in cheap publicity skills. Much to his credit, farmer Mike Esper, who found the circles on his 1,000-acre farm, said he didn't believe the station. Thanks to members Jeff Wilson and Tattoooz for sending in the reports.
