I have tried several times to get an explanation of why the Jewish 6-pointed star, or 'Mogen David' (Star of David) appears on Marine sabres, but spokesmen for the Corps will not respond. The following is one letter which I wrote, and which went unanswered:
Sent to: PAM@HQMC.USMC.MIL 1/18/06
To whom it may
concern:
I have been directed to your office for answering the question
below, which was originally submitted to the Commandnat's office. I and my
readers would appreciate a substantive response from a properly credentialed
officer.
QUESTION:
>>The Marine sabre is decorated at its
hilt with a six-pointed star -- aka,
>>the Mogen David, or Star of
David, the symbol of the Jewish people -- and
>I
>>would like to
know why this is so. Is this some kind of historical
>>accident, or
does it represent a not-so-subtle indicia of the influence of
>>Jews
over the Marine Corps, as those Krazy Konspiracy Theorists would
say?
>>Beyond this, in view of the fact that the Star of David is so
heavily
>>associated with Jews, would it not be in the interest of good
public
>>relations for the Marines not to have it appear on Marine
sabres?
>>
>>I am webmaster of a popular website which has
many Krazy Konspiracy
>>Theorists as readers, and those readers will
undoubtedly hang on your
>every
>>word, should you care to
respond. And should you NOT care to respond, my
>>readers will
undoubtedly conclude that you have Something To Hide,
which
>is
>>what my Marine sources tell me you are doing on this
issue.
