John,
You should have observed by now that I am strictly concerned only
with
process. Due process, to be specific. I try my best to avoid the
issue of
what people actually have done or not done to get the attention
of the
"authorities".
For example, forfeiture is wrong. Period. I don't care whether
the victim
of forfeiture committed a crime or not. I don't even want to talk
about it.
Unfortunately, that is what most people do want to talk about. It
starts
off with, "Well, he probably deserved it".
I am strict Constitutionist. If there's something wrong with it,
then let's
change it. But it is a path to hell that we are following now in
ignoring it.
Don't get me wrong on the "strict" part. I realize the
Constitution is
vague -- can't be helped. But when the intent is obvious and it
is ignored,
I get upset.
