 Darklight Conflict: ready for space

Darklight Conflict

Remember playing tag way back in grammar school? Well, if you were "it" as often as I was, you want revenge. And what better place to get it than in space? Darklight Conflict is a new space combat game from Electronic Arts featuring four modes of play, one of which is, as you probably guessed, Tag. The other three are Death Match for one-to-one combat; Cooperative for group play; and Capture the Flag, also for groups (teams fly into the opponent base to get the flag).

In Darklight Conflict, the story line is brief and nothing out of the ordinary. You're a human fighter pilot who has been kidnapped and genetically mutated into an alien Repton warrior. Your assignment during this mission is to learn the Repton customs and language. If you can think and act like them, your chance of survival is better. The action centers on dogfights, turret fights, and bomb runs. You have command wingmen at your side to assist with your battles.

Darklight has 50 single-player missions as well as many more multiplayer levels. Electronic Arts promises fast 3D, SVGA graphics and awesome real-time lighting effects. Each fighter is customizable and gives you a choice of 15 different weapons for your arsenal.

When can you start your mission? Darklight will be available this spring for Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation, and the PC. It will have networkable and modem multiplayer options. Rage, the British company that brought Ultimate Soccer and Powerdrive to the Sega Saturn, developed this new action game.
