Hello All,
After 3-4 months of debating and using every bloody search technique known to man (except F+ maybe) I have come up with... zilch!
What I want is a simple text editor (no big deal here). However the text editor needs to mark the position of the cursor with a horizontal/vertical line combination. See pic attached below. In this pic I am now at the area where the next thing I type will be at the position of the letter 'h'.
Don't ask me why, but I am really in love with an editor that can do this (since I first saw them on VAX/VMS Mainframes... Green lines both -- maybe someone here can remember what they used to look like).
So anyways, to cut a long story short, can anyone recommend me an editor that does this? There are a FEW editors that mark both horizontal/vertical, but they are CLUNKY, COLUMN-WIDE markings, not simple, elegant LINES as shown here.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that they dynamically move as I move my cursor? The idea is that the intersection of the horizontal and vertical represents where the cursor is.
Can some kind soul guide me to the NAME of the editor that does this under Windows XP? Finding it and registering it is something I think I can manage... Heh! (please, no ideas like -- try installing VAX/VMS env. on VMWARE... ugh!)
Thanks all.
I should warn you, if noone helps me out, I might even CODE MY OWN!! (there, I said it!)
Finally, some poor soul ALWAYS says this to me: You've already done it in the screenshot so why do you need it... well, that's UEdit and the line were drawn with ms-paint, just that you should know.
