Idling times are over ;) You can expect a bunch of new tutorials in the near future. We are also working on a new set of challenges.

A very good reverse-engeneering tutorial from CrUsAdEr is added who reveals the inner working of Asprotect.
Thx CrUsAdEr ;)

We are setting up some new mirrors to make the site more accessible :

Only 2 days till the new year :)
We are taking a short break, so don't expect new tutorials in the next days...it 's party time :)) but also time for some of our projects, which are approaching their deadlines :( ...

But don't worry, we 'll be back with new tutorials and other stuff in a short while ;) If you have an interesting tutorial or crackme, keep on sending them! We won't stop checking our mailbaggie :)

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
And may 2002 be a good cracking year ;))

Greetz,

BiW Crew

WARNING!!!!!

There has been a virus in an exe-file on our site. This file was downloadable on the crackmes page and in a tutorial for WDasm on the Tuts-page. The file was mcrackme1.zip!
The name of the virus is W95-CIH, also known as Chernobyl. There are 3 known variants. It tries to overwrite your BIOS and then overwrites your HD! This happens on every April 26th, or every month on the 26th, depending on which variant.
It probably was available for download on this site on Friday (21/12/2001), Saturday(22/12/2001) and maybe Sunday(23/12/2001).
The detection of this virus is fairly easy, so if you were on our site on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and downloaded this file, you should run a virus-scan to detect the virus and desinfect your files.
We apologize for any inconveniences this might have caused!

More info on the virus can be found here.

The crackme mcrackme1.zip is now free of viruses! It is still advised to scan files you download from our site, or anywhere on the net. We cannot be held responsible for any damage.

Well, here I am again, with the latest news on BiW-Reversing

As you (hopefully) can see, the pop-ups are gone. This is because we found another server which is free, and has no pop-ups! Thanks to lunarpages!
Well, we have a few new tutorials and a new crackme (if you can call it a crackme of course) for the very newbies among us.
Detten wrote a tutorial for a fine crackme by Basse and I wrote a tutorial on how to use WDasm and a little crackme as an example.

Well, that's all for the news now. We're trying to update as much as we can. We are writing tutorials as hell (sitting behind our computers day and night with glazy eyes :) but we also have other projects we're working on, so...we have to spread our time.
Yes,...spare time is hard to find these days.

Well, I just have a great idea (I think). If you have written a tutorial (for a crackme, or a general tutorial) and you would like to post it on our site, contact us! That way, this site can grow much faster and that is good for everyone. Of course, only good tutorials are accepted :-)

Greetingz

Miele

The url that will work always (I hope) to enter the latest version of the site is still http://www.biw-reversing.cjb.net/
So, don't forget to bookmark it!

PS: If anyone knows or owns a fast server, without pop-ups or ads, that supports PHP and that will host our site, contact us...
