Tutorial on Cracking EditPlus 1.1 by XCrack [tNO]

	This is my second tutorial in one day and I am not a expert on cracking you can classify me as a newbie if you want. I just downloaded EditPlus 1.1 which you can get at: www.editplus.com I needed this editor so I can program in C with it so I decided to create a tutorial on getting a valid serial for your name. This program is great you can program in C/C++, HTML, Java, and Perl and it will highlight everything important. In this tutorial I figure that you have a well understanding of SoftIce the best debugger in the world period. If you don't have it go to http://iczelion.cjb.net and get the newest version. If you don't have it setup search the net for tutorials on how to set it up. A good tutorial on it is by Phrophecy which you can get at http://proph.home.ml.org. Download the crack pak it is in the first tutorial that you will find how to setup SoftIce. Now lets get on with cracking the program.

Looking At the Program
----------------------

	Open the program and click on HELP and then on Enter Registration Key... A dialog will appear asking for a User Name and Registration Key. Now we know were the program asks for the serial.

Cracking the Program
--------------------

	First type in your Name and type a fake serial. Example: I would type XCrack and 161616. Press Ctrl-D and set a breakpoint in SoftIce on GetWindowTextA. Example: type bpx GetWindowTextA. Press F5 and you will return to Windows. Now hit enter. It will break in to SoftIce. Press F11 three times. And you should see:

0047A3FE E8AF3B0000              call 0047DFB2     <-- Call to test if we put right serial.
0047A403 EB0C                    jmp 0047A411      <-- Jump to dialog box if not right.


Lets find out what esp+08 to get are serial by typing d esp+8 in SoftIce or right click on [esp+08] and select display The registration key will appear in the data window. Example: If you used XCrack as your name you would see this in the data window:

2DD340DA-8D9F636E <-- this is the registration key !!!!!

So now you know the registration key for your name now write this down and type bc * in SoftIce and press F5 and you will be back in Windows. Now enter registration key you just got into EditPlus and you should have it registered. I hope this wasn't hard I tried to make it the easiest possible for you.
