Cracking for Newbies - by Dahood Target: Applet Marquee Wizard 3.5 Tools used: W32Dasm Protection: 1.Serial NOTE: This tutorial is not totally for newbies so i excpect that u know 1.how to use w32dasm 2.how to use hview (change,search,etc...) 3.Assembly Ok...Lets start!! 1) Run "Applet Marquee Wizard.exe" now you see that a little window pops up. Click Register. Enter anything in the 2 fields. The program says....hmm....NOTHING? Ok..normally it says something like "Incorrect username and password". But anyway...letīs run W32Dasm. 2) Ok....Lets open "Applet Marquee Wizard.exe" Now you're gonna see a lot of strange symbols and stuff... Now...because it didnīt say any error message about wrong name and pass we shall search for the CORRECT message... But how can we know the correct message? Itīs really easy......a word like (Thanks) In this case (Registration is complete, Thanks) Press the button "STRF REF" itīs a small button. Now you gonna se a list of words and symbols and more just scroll down until you see "Registration is complete, Thanks" Now doubleclick on "Registration is complete, Thanks" then you are transfer to that message...so leave the box and look at the code: -> "Registration is complete. Thanks " -> "for purchasing the Marquee Wizard" -> "Would you like to print the codes " -> "for future reference?" 3) Ok....this is the message when you succesfully registered the program So now you think we must patch the program so it comes to this line..? WRONG!!! 4) Scoll up a bit more untill you see this: * Possible StringData Ref from Code Obj ->"p97z" And the line some lines down: * Possible StringData Ref from Code Obj ->"23ws3" 5) Ok....The first thing I did was thinking.. "Maybe this is the name and password. But why should they put it in here?? But I tried it and it worked!! 6) So just run the Applet Button Factory and enter [ p97z = Name ] [ 23ws3 = password ] 7) How simple can it be? i hope i didnt confuse u and if u have any question, comments my icq# is 69518421 or u can e mail me at webcrawler28@hotmail.com i would like to say thanks to all the crackers 2 many 2 list , for helpin me also for there tutorials also a big thanks to krobar's site Cracking for Newbies - by Dahood
