OK, I'm a complete newb here. I've been reading for the last two days and I finally thought that I had an answer to my problem. I have a program running on an XP machine using SentEmul2007. I need to get that software to work on my Vista 64 machine and every time I try the SentEmul2007, I get an error 1275.

So after reading here, I decided to try and get a dump from the SentEmul2007 on my XP machine and use it with vusb on my Vista 64 machine. Well no luck.

I ran PVA 3.3 and got the dmp file. I then ran it thru f1_nodongle and got my ssp file. I converted it to a reg file and went thru and changed the 16bit chunks and made them 8 bit and then reversed each one (0A8E became 8E,0A) thru all the "sntMemory" lines. I saved the reg file, clicked install.bat and no new device was found. I installed the reg file, restarted the computer and still couldn't use the software.

I'm stumped. Now, there are two licensed dongles under the SentEmul2007 on my XP machine. When I ran PVA 3.3 it only found one. Could that be my problem. If so, any ideas how I get it to see the other. I went into the registry under the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Emulator and removed the registry entries for the dongle PVA found, stopped SentEmul2007 service, uninstalled the driver, closed SentEmul2007 then reversed that whole process and both licensed dongles were still there...

I'm currently confused. Any pointers would be a great help. TIA!

When you got final REG file, check the REGISTRY path in vusb samples files. You may need to change your path. In any case after importing your REG you must restart emulator so it will read your changes and if all right you should see that system found new device.

Is there a specific version of vUSB that I need for Vista 64? I looked thru the .inf file and saw references to 64 bit 0S's, but I wasn't sure. I have no programming experience, so I'm feeling my way thru this.

So I just realized part of the problem...

I installed ReadyDriver Plus so that Vista 64 boots with device driver signing off. I click install.bat in the vusbs folder and it comes up with

C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Sentinel_vUSB_Emulator\vus bus>devcon remove root\vusbbus

No devices removed.

C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Sentinel_vUSB_Emulator\vus bus>regedit /s sample.reg

C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Sentinel_vUSB_Emulator\vus bus>regedit /s test.reg

C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Sentinel_vUSB_Emulator\vus bus>devcon install vusbbus.inf
root\vusbbus
devcon failed.

C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Sentinel_vUSB_Emulator\vus bus>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

vusbbs.inf is not being installed.

*BUMP*

Did you find a solution to this?
Sounds like we're both trying to emulate for the same program?!

I am trying to run Windows XP 64 Bit and get the same error!

Ideas?

@focus_frenzy & bl4h13

look for devcon for 64 bit OS it is located with multikey 64 bit

You also need to address the Certification/Signing problem too.

Hi,

Joho, did you try a virtual machine?

By the way, here's a great summary of all the methods available to bypass driver signing in x64 windows:

http://www.freeotfe.org/docs/Main/impact_of_kernel_driver_signing.htm

It's a very very good summary.

Kind regards.

VM is slowing my app down a lot.
It needs GPU/CPU full power of computer.

VMWare Workstation 7 has support for 3D hardware acceleration.

You can try the evaluation version for free, or you can use a keygen to get a full version at no cost.

If I remember correctly, team EMBRACE has released a keygen for vmware workstation 7.

Kind regards.

I use VMWare Workstation 7, and unfortunately not so true about Hardware acceleration, not completely. It is true that since this feature is version 6.5 and version 7 you can have transparencies Windows_7, and it is also true that the new version 7 significantly improved graphics acceleration, but still falls far short of the Original graphics hardware performance, additionally some software professionals do not recognize this type of virtualization, for example the standard OPENGL can not virtualize. It's a shame. The best thing to do is install Windows x64 on your way to test and create a certificate for your driver.

For Full GPU Acceleration you need two video cards with dual Quadro FX 5800 and software Workstation Parallels Extreme, It is not practical because of its high cost.

Hello
I am not familiar with such tools. I was using Sentemul2007 and edgespro11 together in XP. We just got new laptop with Win7 and when I am trying to work with edgepro11 and then sentemul2007, an error occurred (error1275).

I've read some posts but unfortunately I could not understand it well even its related with my problem or not.

Could anyone help me? How can I solve this problem? new sentemul exe or some settings on Win7. I"ve tried some ways from other forums, i could not do it I guess. If no another way, I am planning to rollback to XP from Win7..

thanks in advace

This error occurs because sentemul2007 not work in Windows x64.

Use Multikey-V0.18.0.3 for x64 systems

Multikey-V0.18.0.3 for x64 systems OK

Dear diegotorres,
Thanks a lot for prompt reply. How can I find Multikey program? There are some pics in your message, is that program? or I can not see them?

You said that Sentemul2007 is not working in x64 systems. I ve tried to work in COMPABILITY MODE (xp sp2 mode) or Administrator mode of w7, still same error.

thanks

I saw SENTEMUL2008 fo x64 system and maybe later version also support x64. Of course you have to pay its author for using it ;)

diegotorres,

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about Parallels Extreme, but it does sound very promising!

I think our best hope would be a graphics card with support for SR-IOV (PCIe Single Root I/O Virtualization), together with a motherboard with support for IOMMU (I/O memory management unit). That would give you truly native speeds for a virtual machine.

By the way, if anyone is interested in understanding how these new technologies work, take a look at this article:

http://arstechnica.com/business/guides/2010/02/io-virtualization.ars/

It's highly recommended!

Kind regards.

@Leolo

Thank you, very good article, this method has a future, I think in a couple of years we will see amazing results in virtualization. Again thanks for the information ;) .
