Hi,

I too have been trying to crack the U3 protection technology that was loaded onto my U3 drive (I set a password some time ago and have since forgotten it).

I have conducted a lot of research into the device's behaviour, using Syser and Ollydbg - no luck. Most of my research has been directed towards the U3launch.exe file, while I attempt to find out how the password dialog is loaded and what code is executed to mount the drive which contains my files. Still no luck.

I thought I would respond to your email in the hopes that we could collaborate (or, maybe you've found an answer to your question already?). Unfortunately I am not well versed with assembler, which makes reverse engineering and interpreting the assembler commands very difficult.
